Objective
- Develop a new identity for The Calais Wine Superstore
- Design and build an e-commerce website that increases online orders and driving visitors to visit the store. A key challenge was to make searching their vast 4000+ product range for specific wines intuitive and straightforward.
- Apply the identity to all consumer touchpoints with the aim of establishing an emotional point of difference in a highly price sensitive market
Solution
- In a marketplace dominated by the major supermarket chains, we identified that The Calais Wine Superstore’s customers valued the personal service that only an independent business could provide. We sought to develop a logo and identity system that was friendly and approachable, but with a degree of sophistication. The identity references its French location in a subtle, unintrusive manner, with the primary blue and red of the national flag given a contemporary twist
- The identity was applied to a powerful and fully content-managed e-commerce website. The site includes an innovative context sensitive navigation system which enabled visitors to search for products based on a wide variety of criteria. Customers can log-in enabling them to take advantage of exclusive members offers, as well as allowing them to upload product reviews
- The Calais Wine Superstore’s Über System combines a powerful order management solution with a fully integrated product CMS. The CMS provides the ability to maintain product information, upload new photography and manage pricing updates. The website also generates branded PDF price cards for every product which can be printed out and used in store
- The identity was applied throughout the store as well as on all marketing collateral
